Writing Your Way out of Poverty

This isn't a post about getting rich. Rather getting what is worth out of life. Writing is an act that involves your entire being and demands your presence. The poverty i'm talking about is living a life on auto pilot.

Transformative Writing starts with intention

Many a times, the keys to changing our lives come in the form of simple things. One of those simple things is writing. Reknown Motivational Speaker Jim Rohn emphasizes the power of writing to transform your life. He suggests that if you want to achieve financial abundance, you should take the time to write down 20 steps that you believe will lead you to wealth. According to Rohn, many people have turned their lives around simply by engaging in this act of writing.

It may seem simple, but people just don't do it. Its whimsical, its day dreaming, its in effective. It sounds so simple it probably just won't work. However, by putting our thoughts and aspirations onto paper, we become more focused and intentional about our goals. We begin to take ownership of our desires and actively work towards achieving them.

Author of Your Life a page at a time

Francis Bacon once said, "Reading maketh a full man, conference a ready man, and writing an exact man." This quote highlights the importance of reading for knowledge, discussion for readiness, and writing for precision and clarity. It emphasizes how writing allows us to articulate our thoughts with precision, making us more exact in our expression and understanding. When we start to write out what we want from life, we become the authors of our own stories. We no longer passively accept the narratives that life sometimes imposes on us. Instead of saying, "I can't help it because this happened to me," embrace what truly matters to you and seize control over your waking hours.

Although our lives are ultimately directed by the hand of God, writing allows us to gain clarity and purpose. It helps us articulate our desires and aspirations in a concrete manner. When we see our goals written down in black and white, they become self-fulfilling prophecies. They are a roadmap to success with the steps to turn our dreams into reality.

Write Intentionally!

When we write with intention, we aren't merely jotting random thoughts. We set clear goals and use writing to make them happen. By putting our goals on paper, we take them seriously and gain perspective. Even if at first what we write down seems frivolous and unattainable, doing this repeatedly is like creating a stone carving where the final statue is slowly but surely chipped into its desired form.

Writing with intention helps us focus better. Reviewing what we've written guides us towards our goals, like steering a boat in the right direction. This keeps us motivated, even when things get tough. In short, writing can change our lives by giving us clarity, purpose, and the drive to turn our dreams into reality. It has already changed so many lives! So, grab a pen and start writing your way out of poverty towards the true riches!
